GUIDE TO RACE CATEGORIES
Please use your age on your next birthday in the year of racing, so if it's February and you turn 19 in December, 19 is the age you use to decide your category for the year.
If you move up a category after Xmas you may choose to enter this category before Xmas to be in the overall series rankings. This is however your choice to make.
U12 DOWNHILL (RIPPER)
Riders taking part in short course or mini downhill events can compete in their 12th year and below.
JUVENILE
To qualify for the juvenile category, a rider must be in the year of their 13th or 14th birthday.
YOUTH
Riders in the year of their 15th or 16th birthdays.
JUNIOR
Riders in the year of their 17th and 18th birthdays.
SENIOR (Sport / Expert / Elite)
When a rider reaches the year of their 19th birthday then they will race in an ability based category See below for how riders can attain expert or elite status.
MASTER

VETERAN

GRAND VETS

How do I qualify to a higher ability category?
